During the rhinoplasty, the bones of the nose are disconnected and fixed in a new position, and excess cartilaginous tissue is eliminated and a new shape is simulated from the rest. When the rhinoplasty is carried out with open access, the seams are removed after 2-3 days, after which special glues are placed in their place to make the scar as invisible as possible. The closed rhinoplasty is produced by cutting the inside of the nose. The seams are not visible and eventually dissipate.

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthesia and lasts from half an hour to two hours, after which a locking plaster patch is applied, which must be worn for 10 days. In the first days after the operation, it is better to keep the bed rest, as well as to keep the head position, it should be raised high. For two weeks, the nose retains some swelling, and the final result of the plastic can be estimated 4-6 months after the operation. Rhinoplasty is not always medically required, so a plastic surgeon must not only improve the shape of the nose but also preserve the normal functioning of the respiratory system.
